Intention plays a vital role in our lives, more than we are all aware of. It is the energy that flows through us and shapes who we are. Certainly, Intention has two purposes. Firstly, it serves us to be better than we know ourselves to be, and second, it can be used as a vehicle to move us forward in our inner growth.

A common interpretation of intention is, “I want something to happen and I will do anything to make it happen, regardless of the obstacles in the way, I will make it happen.” I have heard Wayne Dyer calling this the Pitbull attitude. This is not what intention is, but rather it is the Ego at work leading us in the Ego’s path without stricking deeper cords. Wayne Dyer said, “Intention is not necessarily something that I do but rather something I connect to.”

The sacred text of the Veda, the Upanishads reads, “You are what your deepest desire is. As your desire is, so is your intention. As your intention is, so is your will. As your will is, so is your deed. As your deed is, so is your destiny.”

Four fundamental steps to set your intention:

State your intention that must be more than an idea, with the reasons that idea was born in you.
Release that intention in your consciousness.
Trust that it will manifest, no matter the negative interferences of others or of your own ego trying to talk you out of that.
Detach from any outcome.

Intention is not only about the desire to manifest something outside of you but also the decision to create a different and better you and this is my biggest wish to you for the new year.

We all have moments of anger; I always say that anger is a child of fear.
Will your intention be to act/speak out of fear or will you act/speak out of love?
What about when you have twinkle of jealousy? Set the intention to speak/act out of gratitude instead.
Before speaking or acting you should consciously set your intention. Pause and ask yourself, “Is what I am about to say or do coming from fear or from love? From jealousy or gratitude? From resentment or compassion?

By becoming aware of your intention before you act and before you speak your reality will change. Conversely, if you are not conscious and aware of your intention prior to your acting or speaking, the rooted one and unconscious one will show up and will feel entitled to claim your experience giving you the same de-ja-vu you’ve always had.
Since I wish you a truly new year with the true fulfillment of our resolutions, I wish you to let go of chasing your tail and start pausing to wonder what your intention is to become a better you.

This way you do create the reality around you, you will change the energies around you, you will emanate a different light which will shine and attract different energies, people and experiences.

Intention is much much more than the manifestation of your desire and your will, It is the most precious choice to create a different you and a different energetic environment around you and it is the most precious vehicle for the grow of your inner capabilities.
